Diep Bao LeDIEP, Bao Le - It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bao Le Diep of Toronto, Ontario in his 79th year. He passed away peacefully on Thursday January 28, 2021 with family by his side.

Bao Le was the loving husband of Nhung Huynh, beloved father to his son Minh The and his daughter Le Chan (Michael), and proud grandfather to his grandson Logan.

Bao Le was born in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam on June 10, 1942. As a young boy he enjoyed the costal beauty of Vietnam before moving inward to Buon Me Thuot in the central highlands of southern Vietnam. There he began to work in the coffee plantations which was reflective of his peaceful nature that he was known for. While working and helping with the family business he would escort home the neighbour’s lovely daughters at night. One of which would win his heart and later become his wife on May 25, 1975.

A handy man with a very strong will against the conflict in his country gave him the ability to survive as a mechanic during the Vietnam War. He spoke little of that time but we all understood that it was the driving force to move his family from his home country. In 1979, with a toddler and baby in their arms, they joined the boat people of Vietnam to start a new life.

Bao Le and family would spend the next 4 years in Hong Kong before receiving a sponsorship to immigrate to Toronto, Canada. Committed to his family he worked very hard to provide for them. Success to him was making a good life for the family with the opportunity for them to do the same.

As a man of few words, he taught us how to live a simple life and appreciate our loved ones. He enjoyed the daily walks with his wife so they could be outdoors together and experience life at a slower pace. He brought his children to explore the growing city and now they are grateful to have the local sites where he can be remembered. He spent countless hours playing with his grandson who made him his most favourite playmate. His gentle spirt will be dearly missed by his immediate and extended family.

As a result of strict COVID regulations which includes a mandate of a maximum of 10 attendees at funeral & burial services, a private viewing will be held at Scott Funeral Home in Mississauga on the evening of February 3rd, followed by a family funeral and burial on the morning of February 4th. He can later be visited at his place of rest in Glen Oaks Cemetery in Mississauga.

The family would like to thank everyone for their warm thoughts and condolences. The support received has been very helpful during this difficult time. They are also thankful for the care and attention provided by Toronto Grace Health Center which will never be forgotten.
