Roberts CarolineROBERTS, Caroline June (nee Deas) - Caroline June Roberts (nee Deas), 87 of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday January 27, 2021.

Caroline was born and raised in Toronto and was a longtime resident of Aurora for the past 61 years. Caroline was born on June 30, 1933 to the late Marie Deas (nee Taylor) and the late William Louie Deas. She attended Orde Street Public School and graduated from Central High School of Commerce.

Caroline had a keen intellect and continued learning throughout her life. She took courses in Business and Estate Law to deepen her knowledge and understanding of her position as an Estate Transfer Clerk during the many years she worked in the Bay Street financial district of Toronto. She even considered learning Mandarin thinking it would be an asset to her work. Caroline was well respected for her professionalism and received numerous commendations. She retired from Merrill Lynch in July 2000.

The testament to Caroline’s true managerial skills was her ability to maintain a successful career while raising five children, volunteering to be a Brown Owl, canvassing for the Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign Month, attending dance recitals, hockey and baseball games, baking bread and making jams, jellies and preserves. She was an avid reader, studied health and wellness issues, took a course in Iridology, loved going to the movies and enjoyed playing Euchre and Bridge.

Caroline’s many travels throughout her life took her from family camping trips across Canada to many states throughout the USA, several islands in the Caribbean, Mexico, South America and Spain.

Caroline is survived by her loving husband Samuel Roberts, children Vicky (Wellesley), Jeffrey (Hina), Gregory (Lisa), Warren (Mimi), our sister Coreena (Andrew) who Mom embraced like a daughter, her sister-friend Shirley Duncan, 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Denise and sisters Emmeline Wales and Thelma Kinney.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Thompson Funeral Home and Funeral Director Amy Swaile, Reverend Jivaro Smith, extended family members and friends of Caroline. Memorial donations can be made in Caroline’s name to Heart and Stroke Foundation Canada.
