Sweeney NaamanSWEENEY, Naaman - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Naaman Stephen Sweeney on May 15, 2021 at the age of 78.

Naaman was born December 24th, 1942, on Bell Island, Newfoundland, to the late Bernard and Nancy Sweeney (Ryan) of Bell Island, Newfoundland.

He married the love of his life, Patricia Adams, at the age of 20 and together they have two loving sons - Jim and Steve (Kimberly). His whole world revolved around his wife, two sons and Steve’s loving wife Kimberly (Locke), who was like a daughter to Naaman.

Naaman lived his entire life putting his family and friends' needs before his own. Working endlessly to provide the best life he could.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing with both of his sons and spending time with his wife going to the cottage and tending to their flower gardens.

Always ready with a joke, you couldn't help but laugh whenever he was around - he lit up a room. He will forever remain in the hearts of all of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Naaman did not want a service. His wish was for everyone to remember him the way they knew him - full of life and love for all. It was also Naaman's wish to be cremated so that he may continue to spend his days surrounded by nature and in the woods that he loved.

For those who insist on sending something, the family asks that you consider sending something for his garden that he worked so hard on year after year. Whether it is a perennial or hanging basket, a bird feeder or some metal art, he loved it all and these gifts of love will help keep his memories alive for years to come.

Arrangements entrusted with Jerrett funeral home, Scarborough chapel.
