Keenan MaryKEENAN, Mary Teresa (nee McNULTY)   - Born August 3, 1928 – Died September 16, 2021

One of the most steadfast, devoted, and faithful of all God's children, Mary was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Hers was a life of prayer and strength to weather all challenges.

Having survived both the Great Depression in her early years and the blitzing of the UK during World War II, she immigrated to Canada in 1948, where she had her three children.

She was well known to her colleagues at Sunnybrook Hospital, where she worked for seventeen plus years, for her unwavering warmth and humour, as well as her talents with sewing and knitting.

At one point, nearly every staff member had either a pair of slippers or a baby blanket, and every single one made with love.

And throughout her 93 years, she prayed for anyone who needed a little help from above; all anyone had to do was ask. Her long journey took her to Stroud, where she lived the last 32 years of her life in one of the original homes built in the community.

Throughout the neighborhood she was known by all who saw her as "the woman who puts us all to shame" simply by doing what she loved most: tending to her property, dressed in head-to-toe wool even at the peak of summer, in between the rosary and watching the televised Daily Mass.

She will forever be loved and remembered by her sons John (Sharon) and Patrick (Carol) and her daughter Gerry, grandchildren Melanie, Michael, Jason, Patricia, Emily, Ryan, Kelly and Rachel, and great-grandchildren Amanda, Kallum and Nola Rae.

Let the Lord Call You Sweetheart Now and Forever.

She will be laid to rest Tuesday, September 21st in Thornhill, ON.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Catholic Broadcasting Council or Sunnybrook Hospital are welcomed at dailytvmass.com or donate.sunnybrook.ca.
