Baker CharlesBAKER, Charles John   - November 22, 1929 - October 3, 2021

With heavy hearts, on October 3, 2021, we announce the peaceful passing of Charlie with his beloved wife Betty, by his side, at the age of 91.

Predeceased by his former wife Doris. Loving father of Reg (Linda), Janet (Dan) and stepfather of Kathleen.

Cherished Papa of Matthew (Laura), Leanne (Michael), Gregory (Caitlyn), Wesley (Eva), Hillary (Shurland), Lauren and Kaitlin. Proud great-grandfather of Grace, Charley, Lauren, Allie, Zoe, Ethan, Marleigh, Madeleine, Benjamin, Isaiah and one on the way.

Charlie was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Imperial Oil.

Charlie and Betty took many trips abroad and enjoyed life to the fullest with their many friends.

Charlie had a smile that would light up a room, a wonderful sense of humour, loved his sweets and had a soft spot for all his four-legged furry companions. Charlie was also an avid sports fan and loyally followed the Raptors, Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Charlie was actively involved in the First Presbyterian Church in Collingwood and a member of the Probus Club in Wasaga Beach.

A special thank you to Dr. J. Lane, PSWs, Saint Elizabeth Nurses and the nurses at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital for all their compassionate care and concern for Charlie.

The funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Collingwood, on Friday, October 8th, at 11 a.m. Due to COVID regulations, attendance at the service is limited, please register at Fawcett Funeral Home, if you wish to attend.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation
