LOW, Mary Carol   - December 10, 1945 - December 9, 2021

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Mare, Aunt Mare, Mimi.

If you knew Mary, you are aware that there are not enough words to describe how wonderful she was, but do understand that she touched every heart she encountered and made a positive and long-lasting impact.

Mary was incredibly humble about her work and referred to herself as an educator, but she was so much more.

Throughout her life, she used her amazing talents of public speaking and writing to give sermons and write monthly letters, including her annual Christmas letter.

Her words were used to encourage and uplift others in the name of peace, love, happiness, friendship, strength and health.

She spent her last several years serving as a warden at the parish of Christ the King building a community of faith and spreading God's love.

Mary's siblings Annette, Florajean, Jack, Janet, John and Susan will honour Mare by continuing her legacy of love and kindness. Nieces and nephews Kim, Jenny, Christie, John William, Jackie, Al, Sean and Kris, will be forever grateful for the lasting memories and lessons of patience and compassion learned from their amazing Bonus Mom. Great-nephews and niece Nate, Josh and Zoe will never forget the many moments of love (and ice cream!) they shared with Aunt Mare.

Mary is being reunited with her loving parents, John and Jenny, brothers Hughie and Howard, sister Irene and nephew Scott for a good game of cards and some laughs.

Mare's extended family, Sue, Adam, Terry and Eleanor, as well as those at the Church of Christ the King in Etobicoke, TDSB and EQAO, remained in her heart, thoughts and prayers until her final moments.

Mary and her family would be remiss to not acknowledge all the support received in Brampton from Home and Community Care, CBI Health, Right at Home Canada, Primary nurse, Puneet, and Doctors Chen and Perdrizet.

To best honour Mare, we ask you to commit a random act of kindness today and each day going forward.

Donate to your favourite charity, lend an ear to a loved one, introduce someone to the classic rock of Queen, give the gift of a teddy bear, or simply smile at a stranger.

Remember to also take time for yourself. Read a book, write a poem, spend a quiet moment snuggling your pet, or take a scenic drive. In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

A funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ The King, 475 Rathburn Rd., Etobicoke, on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

Fully vaccinated individuals are welcome to join in the celebration of Mary's life; however, due to COVID restrictions, a maximum of 80 individuals can be present and must pre-register by emailing at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
