REED, Joseph Charles - After a valiant fight against cancer, Joseph passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga on Tuesday January 1st, 2019 at the age of 68.
Loving husband of Jane (nee Placido) for 40 years.
Beloved father of Amy (Andrew) and Bryce.
Brother of Virginia Haggerty, Suzanne Milatz and Georgia Cox (Grant)
Dear son of the late Norman and Virginia Reed and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Joe grew up in Lorne Park and the Kingsway in Toronto. He moved with his family to Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of fourteen where he attended Olympus High School. Joe had fond memories of his time in Utah where he enjoyed climbing the mountains and being outdoors with family. He returned to Toronto where he was educated at the University of Toronto and Seneca College, studying Accounting and Finance.
Joe’s career included time working in Northern Manitoba at Lynn Lake performing accounting with Sherritt Gordon Mines, working at Wardair as an accountant where he met his wife Jane, and both TD and CIBC as an Investment Specialist.
Joe and Jane settled in Mississauga where they raised their two children, Amy & Bryce.
Joe was compassionate towards others, often donating turkeys at Christmas to those in need, was a helpful neighbour, and was always willing to lend an ear and offer sound advice to those who confided in him. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his compassion, sincerity, humour and generosity.

Friends may call at Skinner & Middlebrook Funeral Home, 128 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga on Tuesday January 8th from 5:00-8:00pm. A celebration of life and internment will take place in Tobermory, ON in the Spring.
