Peacefully, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Bluewater Health, Charles “Chuck” George Whittlesey passed away at the age of 81. Cherished brother of Elisabeth (Tony) Dunn of Sarnia. Treasured uncle of Trevor (Robin) Larkin of Sarnia. Predeceased by his parents Ida and George Whittlesey.
Chuck was hired on by the city of Sarnia at the age of 18 and retired as an engineering surveyor in 1996 at the age of 51. Chuck had a passion for cars, motorcycles, boats, anything fast, and he owned several of each throughout the years. He once made it to Tobermory from Sarnia in just under 2 hours in his 1969 Corvette. Chuck was thrilled when the management from the Capital Theatre had asked him if they could display his chopper motorcycle in the lobby when the movie Easy Rider was playing.
Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Charles’ wishes, no services will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home, please).
