Alvin Wilby

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Al Wilby on August 3rd, 2026, at the age of 91.

Alvin Wilby will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 70 years Joan. Children Elaine Ormiston (Robert) Russ Wilby predeceased (Dale) Andrew Wilby, Catherine Brookes (Paul), 6 grandchildren and other friends and family.

Al was born in Yorkshire England on May 26th, 1935. Where he spent 32 years of his life. He met his dedicated wife Joan and married at the age of 21. They had two children, Elaine and Russ. In 1967 they moved to Canada where they had a set of twins, Andrew and Catherine.

Al was a hard worker who, when he retired, enjoyed woodwork, travel, cruises with Joan and spending time with his family whenever he could.

The world will be a little less bright with Al’s passing. He has given us a lifetime of amazing memories because he truly was a wonderful man.

A celebration of will be held on August 18th from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville.
