It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Clarence Sawyer who passed away at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus on Friday November 7 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Susan Sawyer (nee Garant). Loving father of David (Amber), Stephanie, Carrolyn, Ed, and Amy. Proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Brother of Susan and the late Tom (surviving Klara). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Son of the late Clarence and Margaret (nee Maxwell) Sawyer. David will be remembered for his many years of service as a locomotive engineer with CP Rail, many summers at the cottage in Grand Bend, love of being on the water, winters in Florida, his loving nature, especially memories with his grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Windsor Chapel Banwell Funeral Home, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E on Wednesday November 12, 2025 from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm. Cremation will follow. Donations made in David’s memory to the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
