Dorothy and Bill were married on July 26, 1952, beginning a love story grounded in faith, love, and service. In 1955, they built their forever home in Brockville, where they raised their six children and opened their doors—and hearts—to family, friends, and community. Dorothy was a devoted stay‑at‑home mother during her children’s early years, later working as Jewellery and Fashion Manager at Woolco, where she was respected for her warmth, leadership, and dedication.
Dorothy was truly the anchor of her family and the steady companion of her husband throughout life’s journey. Together, they embodied service, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, Loaves & Fishes, the Palliative Care Telethon, and providing pastoral care at both Brockville General Hospital and St. Vincent de Paul Hospitals. Their faith shaped every aspect of their lives, and Dorothy was deeply rooted within the Catholic community, including being a founding member of St. John Bosco Parish and a member of the Catholic Women’s League. She faithfully supported Bill during his seven years of study in Kingston for the Deaconate program, always walking beside him with encouragement and love.
Dorothy had a lifelong love of music and singing, finding joy in her participation in the Grey Nineties Choir and church choirs, where her voice lifted both spirits and hearts. Her compassion extended beyond borders through her involvement with Save the Family Plan, supporting families in need and visiting India twice in service and solidarity.
In retirement, Dorothy and Bill spent many joyful years at Cedar Forest Park on Graham Lake, creating cherished memories filled with laughter, fishing, pontoon rides, water fights, and treasured moments with family and friends. Their shared love of travel took them across the world on many cruises, captured in the fridge magnets collected from each port—a testament to lives well explored and shared.
Dorothy’s life was one of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love. She gave without seeking recognition, loved without condition, and lived as a reflection of her beliefs. Her legacy lives on in the faith she nurtured, the family she cherished, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and service.
