MADONNA, Monette Denise Marie Madonna

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Monette Denise Marie Madonna (born Monette Denise Marie Lacko), at the age of 55. Monette was loved by many and loved many in return.

In honour of her memory, her daughter dedicates the following poem:

Warmth lingers in your memory, your flame unyielding to the storm. Our sorrow at your absence, overpowered by the light you leave, even as we mourn. The many hearts that yearn for you (some old, but many, so very young), now feel you all around us, as your next journey has begun. Though you now walk where we cannot follow, know we go with you all the same. In our love and our thoughts, and all that come after, no downpour of tears could ever dim your flame. We say not goodbye to you, our mom, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend, but rather call on those who’ve travelled this path before you to guide and hold you now-until we can be with you again. Know that we will miss you mom, even though we know we’ll meet again.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
