REPA, Barry Wayne Repa

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Repa, who departed this life peacefully on May 6th, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on April 19th, 1940 in Hamilton, Ontario, Barry lived a life defined by hard work and devotion to those he loved. A proud husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, he spent more than three decades working at Dofasco, earning the respect of coworkers for his skill, honesty, and steady character.

Barry Wayne Repa was predeceased by his parents Tony Repa and Mary Lou Repa (nee. Simpson) and his brother Robert. He is survived by his beloved wife Gayle Pearce and his sons, Chris and Brett, his step-children and his grand children.

Known for his intelligence, quick wit and dancing skills, Barry found happiness in simple things: cutting the grass, volunteering, following and watching sports and was always happiest with a fishing rod in his hand. Together with Gayle, they spent their retirement entertaining, socializing, dancing and travelling the world both together and with friends, with trips to Alaska being a highlight. Their summers were spent in Cottage Country and Pigeon Lake, fishing and enjoying the sunshine.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Tansley Woods that provided excellent care and comfort in his final days.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

A private cremation and funeral was held for family and Barry is interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington, Ontario.
