Passed away at Maple View Retirement Residence on Monday, May 18, 2026. Betty Yvonne Brett (née Toms) of Havelock and Norwood in her 91^st year. Beloved wife of the late Glen Brett (d. 2021). Dear mother of Wendy Anstey (John), Lynn Jansen (Jack), Kim Bird-Russell (Dave), Beth Brett, Bill Brett (Lisa) and the late Bruce Brett. Devoted grandmother of Amy Anstey, Ian Anstey (Dr. Ekong), John Jansen, Tanya Harris, Rosanne Detlor (Jeff), Trisha Gregg, Brett Gregg (Andrew), Christine Curry (Bruce), Ben, Becky, Daniel (Lydia) and Jacob Brett. Cherished by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Survived by her brother Gordon Toms (Joy). Predeceased by siblings Donald Toms, Dorothy Phillips, and Doris Packer.

Betty was an avid knitter and enjoyed creating pottery, stained glass, and jewelry. Her creativity extended to music, and she loved to sing, dance, and play the piano. Betty worked with her late husband Glen at Brett Funeral Chapels in Havelock and Hastings for several years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES – NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street Norwood. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday May 23, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home Sunday May 24, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Havelock.
