NOVOSEDLIK, Joseph Gerard Novosedlik

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Gerard Novosedlik.Β  Joseph passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 at the age of 69 surrounded by loved ones.Β  Joseph was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother in-law, friend and mentor.
Born to William and Josephine (Nee Pillar) Novosedlik in Windsor Ontario on January 21, 1957, Joseph was the second youngest of 6 children. As a child he was known to his friends and siblings for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He had a fondness for adventure, sports of all kinds, and building model rockets.
Joseph Gerard Novosedlik lived his life inspired by his father’s example of compassion and generosity. He was always willing to help those in need.
Following an interest in computers, Joseph studied Computer Programming at St. Clair College in Windsor, where he met the love of his life Susan.Β  From there he went on to have a very successful career working in IT for many Financial and Insurance companies across Ontario, finally retiring in 2018.
Joseph loved fishing, gardening and the outdoors, and was especially fond of the family cottage on Sand Lake. Being a fan of all of Toronto’s major sports teams, he was very much a glutton for punishment. Fortunately for him, he was able to watch his beloved Maple Leafs win a Stanley Cup at least once in his lifetime.Β  A major highlight for Joseph was being able to go to South Bend Indiana to watch his Notre Dame Fighting Irish win in person.Β  Joseph always took great pride in his grandchildren and enjoyed being able to cheer them on in their various sports and activities.
Joseph was known to his family as someone who always had a story to tell.Β  He had an uncanny ability to bring you into whatever event he was talking about, making you feel as if you experienced it personally.
Although he is gone, he will live on in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan, their three children Joshua and wife Stephanie, Jeremy, Andrew and wife Sarah, their six grandchildren Madelynn, Liam, Jacob, Owen, Evelyn, and Sophia, his mother Josephine, his siblings Will (Lynn), Steve (Jo), Mike (Kris), Tom (Alex), and Joanna (Michael), and his many nieces and nephews.Β  He was predeceased by his father William.

Cremation will take place, with a private celebration of life to be held at a later date.
