HANCOCK, May Hancock

She was born Edith May Schroeder, on February 23, 1932, in Stephen Township, Ontario, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at Sakura House.

May Hancock lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and deep love for her family and friends. Her chosen profession as a registered nurse was more than just a career, it was her passion and her calling. She poured her heart into caring for those in need, offering both comfort and skill to countless patients. Beyond her remarkable work as a caregiver in the health field, May extended that same spirit to her family, always placing the well-being of loved ones at the center of her life.

May’s warmth, generosity, and kindness left a mark on all who had the privilege to know her. Those who survive her cherish the memory of her loving presence: her son Craig (Tracy Decent) Hancock; her daughter Tracy (Dave Campbell) Fuchs; her granddaughters Alyssa Fuchs and Lindsay (Brody Vandertuin) Fuchs.

May is predeceased by her family members, whose memory she treasured throughout her days: her parents William and Edith Schroeder; her brothers, Gerald, Leroy (Hollis), Orville (Irene), Earl (Myrtle), Reg, James (Janet), Uel (Naida), Glen (Coray), and Harry (June); and her infant sister, Jean.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004), on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10 to 11 am. The memorial service will take place in the chapel at 11 am.
