It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Peter Martire Paolone, July 1st, 2026, at age 90 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.Β Β Loving husband of 64 years to MaralynΒ nΓ©e Dorschell.Β Β Loving father to SandraΒ Box (Paul).Β Proud Papa to Sarah and Andrew Swainston (Adrienne).Β Β Cherished son of the late Emilio Paolone and the late Maria Carmela Paolone nΓ©e Macoretta of Castropignano, Italy.Β Loving brother to Angelina Terriaca (Jerry).Β Β Predeceased by his brother Dominic (Frediana), sister Antonietta, brother, Ralph (Nancy), sister Ida DβOnofrio (Antonio). Peter will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews. Peter arrived in Canada, at Pier 21 in Halifax, on April 21st, 1953.Β During his work life he gained knowledge and experience that helped him in his career as Superintendent at Franklin Manufacturing.Β When the company closed, he was given the task of finding jobs for those who were laid off and had a very high percentage rate of reemployment for the workers.Β In his retirement he enjoyed fishing and golfing with his buddies, and bowling with the Wednesday afternoon senior league in Kitchener.Β He also enjoyed watching golf tournaments and soccer games on TV.Β He was an avid reader and loved to discuss politics.Β He enjoyed wine making and experimenting with grapes and different kinds of fruits.Β He was also known to share a glass or two with his buddies.
Family will receive relatives and friends at Corbett Funeral Home. 95 Dundas Street, N., Cambridge, Ontario on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 7 pm β 9 pm with Rosary to be recited in the chapel at 7pm.Β Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregoryβs Roman Catholic Church, 10 St. Gregorys Drive, Cambridge on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 1 pm with visitation at the Funeral Home prior to Mass time from 10 am β 12:30 pm. Β Entombment will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, in Lakeview Mausoleum, Thorold, Ontario at 1 pm.Β As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
