LOWERY, Gordon Hartwell Lowery

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Hartwell Lowery. Gord passed away at Centennial Place in Millbrook Ontario in his 96th year. Gord worked at G.M. In Oshawa until he was 65 years of age. Also had worked at the Co-op in Orono previously and did lots of farming at his homestead in Kirby, Ontario.

Gord was a devoted husband to Marj Lowery for 70 years and a wonderful dad to Lynn Robinson (Jeff ), and Marcia (pre-deceased). He was a very, very proud Grandpa to Tyler (Rachel), Curtis (Stephanie), and Brittany. He also was very lucky to be a great-grandpa to Brooklyn, Ozzy and Axel.

His other love was to sports and community. He LOVED Orono. His love of soccer and hockey, and his community shaped the person he was—a mentor, a team-mate, a friend and someone who always showed up for others. His greatest legacy wasn’t found in the games he played or coached, but the friendships he built, the young lives he inspired, and the community he helped strengthen.

The whistle may have stopped, the final buzzer may have sounded, but the legacy of Gord / Dad will continue long after the games are over.
