HILLS, John William Hills

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John William Hills, on July 23, 2026 in his 87th year. John was born on December 24, 1939 in a private hospital on Danforth Ave., Toronto, to his parents William Benjamin and Alice Lillian Hills (nee Hurley). He was the youngest of 4 children-sisters Joyce, Phyllis & Velma. (predeceased).
John worked for the City of Toronto, Parks & Recreation, for over 25 years, retiring in 1998.
John was a loving husband of the late Lillian Diane Hills (nee Berrie). Proud father and father-in-law of Pamela (Johnny), Christopher (Jeannie), Benjamin (Jody). Warmly remembered as Grandpa John to Zara (Carmine), Hayden, Grace, Ivy, Brent & Summer and Great- Grandpa John to Isabella, Angelo & Emilia. John will be fondly remembered by his in-laws, his nieces & nephews-some who called him “Uncle Topcat”. He will be missed by his friends at Deer Lake, who loved his stories. He is deeply missed by his pal, Max.

While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.
Internment and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
