It is with deep sorrow that the family announces his passing at the age of 91, on July 22nd, 2025, at the RVRHC Cardiac and Renal Inpatient Unit, surrounded by the love of his family.
Beloved husband of Clorinda Scarsella. Loving father of Cesare (Lucy) Scarsella. Proud grandfather of Isabella Scarsella, Vito Scarsella and Vincenzo Scarsella. Cherished uncle of Nadia De Amicis.
Achille leaves behind many beloved relatives, including his nieces and nephews: Tony Scarsella (Alma), Anna Pyton (Danny), Danny De Amicis (Dee), Loretta De Amicis and Delia Delcourt (David).
He is now reunited with his dearly missed siblings: Guiseppe Scarsella, Venanzio Scarsella, Velina De Amicis, Consolina Tronca, Delia Ruscitti, and Guiseppina Scarsella. Achille also joins his late nephews: Francesco De Amicis (husband of Nadia), Victor De Amicis (husband of Loretta), and Guiseppe De Amicis.
Achille was the son of the late Cesare and Domenica Scarsella, and the son-in-law of the late Giovanni and Maria Svizzero, all of whom he now joins in rest. He will be sadly missed by many friends and extended family.
A visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Sunday, July 27th, 2025, from 7 pm – 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Parish, 65 Amelia St., Barrie on Monday, July 28th at 10 am. Interment to immediately follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Guests are invited to return to the St. Mary’s Parish Hall for a reception gathering.
The family would like to take this opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, 4th Floor Cardiac and Renal Inpatient department for their excellence in care.
