Horst, Mary – Passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 83 years.
Survived by her siblings Emma Horst of Wallenstein, Edna (Abner) Martin of Alma, Dorothy Horst of Floradale, Glen (Anna) of Elmira, and David (Nancy) of Kurtzville. Remembered by many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Predeceased by her parents Enoch and Sarah Horst, sister Madeline (Gordon) Bauman, nephew Stephen Martin, and one nephew in infancy.
Mary was a woman of deep faith, who loved flowers and especially cherished her years in the Red Lake community. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Peaceful Meadows, Stratford Hospital, AgeCare, Care Partners, the pastoral team at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, and her many friends for their love and care.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. at Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will take place on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, 3745 Herrgott Rd., Hawkesville. The service will be livestreamed on Mary’s tribute page at the funeral home website. Phone access to the service is also available at 226-646-7393. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery, with a reception at the church.
