It is with profound sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of Jacobus Nicholaas Erasmus, known lovingly as “Koos,” on June 2, 2025, at the age of 68.
Survived by his wife of 44 years, Merlynn Erasmus, Koos was a beloved father to Louw, Annette, and Marisa, and a proud Oupa to Annika, Savanna, Matthew, and Eden. Born in Tsumeb, South West Africa, he spent his early life in South Africa before moving with his family to Canada in 2000 to begin a new chapter.
Koos had a passion for nature, travel, and especially photography, capturing stunning images of birds and landscapes. His warmth, humour, and talent left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A gifted conversationalist and avid reader, Koos could turn any topic into a thoughtful and engaging discussion.
Professionally, Koos dedicated his life to the oil industry, excelling as a trainer and mentor. His most rewarding role came as a Territory Manager with WestPier, where he chose to continue working past retirement age, inspired by the people and purpose he found there.
A funeral service will be held at McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., with the service commencing at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel and a reception to follow upstairs.
