After a brief illness, he passed away peacefully in Oshawa, Ontario on the 9th of January 2025 in his 63rd year. He leaves behind his parents Valerie and Leslie Dainton, his brother Robert (Teresa) and his dear sister Kathleen Wheeler. Pre-deceased by his brother James Albert Dainton (2021).
He was a private person and was well loved by all who knew him, friends and family alike. He was also a kind and loving soul and was lovingly known as Uncle Ricky to his nieces and nephew Shauna, Taylor, Tracy, Avrie and Ryan. He liked to do things on his terms, and always liked to fly his own way. Some of his favourite things were spending time with family, especially at the cottage during the summer.
He was employed by the City of Markham as an Arena Attendant for over 35 years. Cremation has already taken place. I
Celebration of Life will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home 847 King Street West, Oshawa, on Saturday July 19th from 1:00 p.m -5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gladly accepted at the Canadian Cancer Society.
