It is with incredible sadness that we share the news of the passing of Leonard James Wallace.
Len passed in his 65th year on May 6, 2025, surrounded by family and friends at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Beloved son of Harry and Muriel (both deceased), loving husband of Sharmon, devoted dad of Abigail (Chris), wonderful step-dad to Dylan (Adrianna), Brandon, and Amanda (Shaun), and proud grandpa to Andrew and Aubree. Cherished brother to Laurie (Paul) and Larry (Janeen), coolest uncle to Jessica, Chris (Ariana), Jonathan, and Sophia, and loving great-uncle to Aspen. Len’s greatest loves, aside from Sharmon and Abbey, were aircraft, travel, music, and, of course, his family and friends.
He enjoyed a long career in the aviation industry and was very proud to be a part of the team responsible for building various aircraft while working at Dowty Aerospace (now Safran) in Ajax and Bombardier in Toronto. He was able to travel to many provinces, states, and countries for work, and also as an avid tourist.
Len always took many, many pictures, and collected souvenirs, from every place he visited. Music was always a part of any occasion with Len, and he never missed an opportunity to attend a concert by one of his favourite bands. Even better when he could go with Sharmon and others who enjoyed the music too. But his favourite thing to do was spend time with family and friends. Len easily made friends everywhere he went, and loved to get together with the people in his life for baseball or golf, going out to dinner or a concert, or having people over for a party, a barbecue, or just to hang out.
We will miss him tremendously and love him always.
Visitations will be held at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, Ontario, on Monday, May 12th from 5pm to 8pm. Service to be held on Tuesday, May 13th from 3pm to 4pm.
