Jean Lennox Fraser (née Buchanan) passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on April 1, 2025, after a brief illness.
She is survived by her children David (Dana), Susan, and Simon (Janet); her grandchildren Laura, Brooke, Alison, and David; her great-grandchildren Liam and Emma; and her nephew John Buchanan (Julie) and grand-niece Hollie.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley in 2018 and her brother John, affectionately known as Jack (Charlotte).
Born in Windsor, Ontario, on May 15, 1932, to James Lennox Buchanan and Jean, she moved to Scotland at a young age with her mother and brother before eventually returning to Canada. Jean enjoyed a long and successful career at Ontario Hydro, retiring in 1987.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Jean’s close friends and neighbours, Donna and Lee, from the Wilmot Creek community, for their care, companionship, and for ensuring Jean always had a glass of her favourite sherry before supper.
A private family service will be held. Memorial donations in Jean’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
