Marian Dorothy Wakely

Passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital in her 87th year.

Marian Dorothy Wakely was predeceased by her loving husband Paul Wakely (2024) and Gordon Hand (1977).

She will be deeply missed by her children, Lorraine Ottolini (Steven) and Brian Hand (Patsy). Cherished grandmother of Katie Ottolini (Bianka), Amanda Kirkton (Nicholas), Robyn Ottolini and Brianna Hand. Great Grandmother of Lavender Kirkton. Predeceased by her brother, Fred Ardis (Doreen). Loving Aunt of Trevor Ardis (Sarah) and Great Aunt to Evan and Lauren Ardis. Truly missed by her furry friend Kit-Kat.

Marian was the beloved sister-in-law of Garry Wakely (Bert, Maryanne), the late Mary Guthrie (Jim), the late Bill Wakely (Doreen), the late Philip Wakely (Bonnie) and the late Judy Wright (David). Loved by many nieces and nephews; special Aunt to Kim Wright and Heather Ferris. Friends to Betty Wakely and Colleen Wright.

Marian touched many lives through her work at the school board, her love for music and accordion playing, Baltimore United Church (Secretary), Cards/Ball/Hockey groups, Port Hope swimming friends, Red Hatters, neighbourhood friends and family.

The family would like to thank Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital, NHH, home caregivers Ainsley, Alana, Gail and Doctors Trainer, Koll, Niglas and especially Dr. Mulé.

A Celebration of Life for Marian and Paul Wakely will take place in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre (30 King Street East, Cobourg, Ontario), September 13, 2026 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., words of remembrance at 2:00 p.m.

Donations in Marian’s memory can be made to the Northumberland Humane Society, Theatre Road, Cobourg.
