Passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on August 7 in her 93’rd year. She was predeceased by her loving husband Steve (2018) and by her parents Margaret (2000) and Anthony “Tony” Horvath (1987), and by her infant sister Helen. She was the loving mother of Steve (Sharon), Debi Smith (Leigh), Greg (Lisa) and Chris, and was also a cherished Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Elizabeth Ann Simon was a dedicated member for 55 years of the Catholic Women’s League and was also involved in many other activities at St. Margaret Mary Parish. She was also an employee at the Hamilton Public Library Main Branch for 31 years.
In keeping with Betty Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at P. X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave, on Wednesday August 12, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Church, 20 Idlewood Ave, on Thursday August 13, at 10:30 AM.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care for Betty Ann. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Betty Ann’s memory may be made to St. Margaret Mary Parish.
