In Loving Memory
At Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in his 70th year. A cherished son, Bill was predeceased by his parents William J. Widdecombe and Helen L. Widdecombe (née Rogers). He was a devoted and much-loved big brother to Karen A. Widdecombe of Oshawa and a longtime friend to Heather (Emma) Rutherford and her daughter Ayrlie, both of Victoria, B.C.
A gifted artist, craftsman, avid reader, and profound thinker, Billy loved working outdoors and being in nature, especially by the ocean. He had an amazing sense of humor and quick wit. He lived his life with honor, treating his environment and everyone he met with respect and compassion. He touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed by family and friends, both in Ontario and on the West Coast.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Huzel, Nurse Beth, and all the team at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Critical Care Unit for their outstanding compassion and support.
Cremation has taken place. As per Billy’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
If desired, memorial donations in Billy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
