Duncan McKenzie Bain
Passed on October 29, 2024

Passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024, surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Duncan faced a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved husband of Rhonda for 34 years. Loving father of Kaylea (Kurtis), Bryce, Madisson, Aleisha, and Sydney. Adored Poppy of Karter, Kinsley, Kade, and Sutton. Duncan will be deeply missed by Alicia Marshall.

Predeceased by his parents, Donald and Theresa, and siblings Don and Doreen. Cherished uncle of Donny, Nicole, and Allison. Lovingly remembered by many family members and friends.

Duncan proudly retired from Hillsdale Manor & Estates after more than 25 years of dedicated service. Known for his love of fishing, he found joy in simple pleasures like watching TV, Tim Hortons double doubles, ice cream, and chats with Google’s Alexa. Known for his quick wit, dark humor, and prankster spirit, he brought joy and laughter to every conversation.

Above all, Duncan adored his family and delighted in spending time with them, especially with his beloved grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He was proud of his children and loved sharing stories about them. Duncan’s presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at a later date, and cremation has been arranged.

In memory of Duncan, donations to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Foundation for the R. S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre or the Canadian Lung Association are greatly appreciated by the family.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Armstrong Funeral Home.
