Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Vimla for 61 years. Son of the late John and Sakina Malik. Dear brother of predeceased siblings Henrick, Jesse, Sheila, Shakuntla, and lovingly remembered by his brothers Stanley, Alexander and Frederick, and their spouses. Cherished father of Azar (Honey) & Samina. Adored grandfather of Isaiah and Isabel.

Arthur John Malik will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, students, and all those whose lives he touched throughout his long and remarkable life. His journey took him from Pakistan, to Manchester, England, to Corvallis, Oregan then to Vancouver, British Columbia and finally to Bowmanville, Ontario where he made his home for the past 50 years.

Arthur will be remembered for the profound impact he made on countless lives throughout his distinguished career as a Professor of Mathematics and a Secondary School Math and Physics teacher at Henry Street High School in Whitby for 20+ years, then retiring. A highly accomplished and brilliant man, he earned his PhD in Nuclear Physics and dedicated his life to education, learning, and sharing his knowledge with others. He was not only a professor, but also a teacher, mentor, and role model to many.

His faith, intelligence, energy, humour, and selfless nature will live on through the many people who had the privilege of knowing him. Above all, Arthur was deeply devoted to his family and will forever be cherished as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
