Gerald Arthur Crotty of Greely, Ontario, passed away on September 29, 2026, at Saint-Vincent Hospital. Born in Burritts Rapids in 1936, he served in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard HMCS Bonaventure and later in the Royal Canadian Air Force before completing his career at National Defence Headquarters.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Doreen; his children Gerry and Karen and their families; six grandchildren; his sisters Marguerite and Susan; and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents and four brothers.
A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held November 7 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel in Ottawa. Donations may be made to Saint-Vincent Hospital.
