SPIRES, Barbara Jean (nee Hooey) Spires - Surrounded by her loving family, Barbara passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday September 14, 2019 at the age of 80 years.
Beloved wife of Larry Spires.
oving mother of Robert Spires (Ruth) and John Spires (Michelle).
Adored grandma of Ashley and Nick.
Predeceased by her parents Burney & Margaret Hooey and her sister in law Sharon Howcroft. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Shannon and Andrea Howcroft.
Barbara was full of life and enjoyed the winters she & Larry spent in Florida as well as her time spent travelling, playing cards, dancing and enjoying Concerts in the Park with her many friends!
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses, especially Jaime, for the wonderful care that Barb received.
A Graveside Service will be held at Zion Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of her life next summer.
Memorial Donations may be made to Eldad United Church or Durham Regional Cancer Centre.
