Reid RogerREID, Roger W.G. U.E.  -

APRIL 9, 1932 – MARCH 16, 2023

Roger William Garffield Reid U.E. passed away Thursday March 16th, 2023, after a long and wonderful life.

He will be greatly missed by his loving family; wife Muriel, daughter Barbara (Daryl), sons William (Rebecca), Gordon (Lori) and Robert (Lisa), grandchildren, Madeleine, Kate (Rex), Connor (Trev), Jake, Jason (Selina), Jessie and Courtney, and great grandchildren, Bison, Shawdae, Sage, Rook and Bowen.

They were married for 67 happy years. He was predeceased by his parents William and Gertrude (Coffee) Reid.

Roger grew up in Toronto and spent the WWII years in Castleton where he finished grade school and spent many enjoyable summers working on local farms.

In Toronto he attended Jarvis Collegiate, a new experience in the big city. Roger served with the 48th Highlanders (Militia) which he found rewarding. He found his career in marketing, primarily advertising in the telecommunications field and other jobs in sales.

Roger was a proud member of the United Empire Loyalists which led him into his hobby of searching his many ancestors, resulting in publishing several family history books. Being left-handed he joined a company selling unique left-handed products which he found to be a lot of fun.

A short career at CNIB gave him a new perspective and appreciation with people who overcome their difficulties with great skills. Organizing travel trips for friends led to an interesting retirement and exciting new places to visit.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Roger’s life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
