Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth SheridanSHERIDAN, Margaret Elizabeth Sheridan - September 11, 1951 – September 12, 2024

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Margaret Elizabeth Sheridan on September 12, 2024, in Oshawa, Ontario, at the age of 73. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 50 years, Robert. She is survived by her children Christie Sims (Dave), Kim Holmes (Kevin), Mark Sheridan (Shanna), and Matthew Sheridan, as well as her cherished grandchildren Megan, Kara, Samantha, Emily, Mackenzie, Brayelle, and Beckett. She is also remembered by her brother Barry Loudon (Dianna). Margaret was predeceased by her parents William and Jessie Loudon (née McDonald) and Brother Colin Loudon and Billy Loudon.

Born in Dumbarton, Scotland in 1951, Margaret settled to Canada in April 1957. She had a vibrant spirit and treasured time spent with family, particularly her grandchildren. Margaret had a passion for travel, with Las Vegas being one of her favorite destinations, where she enjoyed trying her luck at the casinos. She was a devoted Beatles fan, eagerly following their tours and staying informed about their whereabouts. Margaret had a fondness for purses, shopping, and sweets.

Margaret will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18th at 12:30 p.m., followed by a service in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. A reception will take place in the lower level following the service. Interment at Thornton Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.

Thomas "Tom" James Turner passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on September 13, 2024.

Tom was born September 10, 1955 to parents Donald (predeceased) and Sheila (nee Smith) Turner.
He will be remembered by his loving wife Paula and children Courtney, Cody, and Tyler. He is survived by his siblings Alison and Mitch Turner.

Tom's beloved German Sheperd’s, Sadie and Cassidy will miss their dad very much. Tom had many passions in life and many friends who will remember him fondly.

There will be a memorial visitation at Mont Lawn Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20th followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Brian Walker, 85, of Ajax, Ontario, passed away on September 12, 2024, peacefully with his family by his side.

Brian was born on November 28, 1938, to James and Mary Walker in Salford, England. He married Brenda Dolan in 1961 and they had a happy marriage for 61 years until Brenda passed away in July, 2023. They emigrated to Canada with their two young daughters, Elaine and Alison, in 1975.

Brian was active in the community and was a long-time member of the Lion’s Club in Ajax where he led many fundraising activities and community events. Brian was a master electrician, who worked at Go Transit overseeing many projects which continue to benefit the public to this day. Brian was successful in all his endeavors, but family always came first for him. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He took the opportunity to retire early and spent much of that time with his five grandchildren, and he continued to be an influential figure in their lives until his death.

Brian is survived and deeply missed by his brother James Walker, his two daughters Elaine Schembri (Mark), Alison Stinson (David), his grandchildren, Elise Swann (Graham), Patrick Schembri, Jennifer Stinson, Connor Stinson and Aidan Clare Stinson, and his great grandson, Max Brian Edward Swann.
Brian’s life will be celebrated in a private service with his immediate family.

A devoted father to Debbie and Corinne (Phil), an adoring Opa to Ashley(Ryan), Abigail, Emily(Mike) and Daniel and an extremely proud Great Opa to Hudson Horst. Horst will be greatly missed by everyone.

Heaven has gained a new angel who is now joining the love of his life, Hanni.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at McEachnie Funeral Home in Ajax, on Monday, October 7 for a memorial visitation from 12 - 2pm, with a memorial service in the chapel at 2pm. A reception will follow.

Unexpectedly passed away at work, on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the age of 48.

Beloved partner of Rachel O’Connor. Devoted father of Oscar and Koi. Predeceased by his father Victor-Francisco and his brother Samuel. Survived by his mother Francisca. Dear brother of Silvestre, Moises, Esther, Pedro, and Magda. Victor will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Victor was a dedicated father, who was also a very proud and passionate supporter for his kid’s basketball teams. He was an avid domino player and a strong advocate for helping refugees settle in Canada.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Groveside Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the patriarch of our family, Jalal Issa George Abdallah on the morning of Thursday, September 12, 2024. At the blessed age of 96, Jalal returned to his heavily home where he will be welcomed by his late wife, Yvette.

Jalal is survived by his sons Issa (Basma), Issam (Samia), Imad (Mary), Adel (Lana), and Awni (Mirna); and daughters, Faten (Nabil) and Suhair (Bassam) as well as 24 grandchildren and 11 great grand children.

We ask the Lord to receive him with open arms. May all Glory be to Him now and forever and unto the ages. May his memory be eternal.

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at Extendicare Lakefield in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Sharleen (nee Chute).

Loving father of Todd Edwards and Jennifer Edwards. Honorary grandfather of Tabi. Dear brother of Marvin (Pat) Edwards. Much loved companion to his fur baby Boo. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Extendicare Lakefield for their care and compassion given to Gord over the time he spent there. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest on Friday, October 4th, 2024, at Mount Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road in Whitby, ON, at 1:00p.m. The family would like to invite all guests for a time of fellowship and refreshments, followed by the interment in the Arbor Lounge located in the funeral home. It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Mervyn (Merv) George Brand who left us at the age of 82 suddenly on Sunday September 1st at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was a man of immense wisdom and kindness and cherished every moment he spent with his loved ones.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories son Marc (Julia) and son Darrell (Julie) and grandchildren Cameron (Suzanna), Matthew, Caitlin, Riley, Taylor, Josh, Hanna and Reese who will sadly miss him but lovingly remember him. He provided love and guidance to his children and found joy in being a grandparent. His personal connections were undoubtedly a source of immense happiness and fulfillment for him.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Alma Brand and wife Brenda Brand who he loved and cherished so much. His deep bond with Brenda will forever be remembered.

Merv was born on July 10, 1942 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He had a successful and prosperous career at Ontario Power Generation as a Shift Supervisor for the Heavy Water Plant at Bruce Power Plant. He possessed an unparalleled work ethic dedicating countless hours to his profession while still finding time for his family as a priority.

He was a devoted father and husband and enjoyed coaching sports teams for his son’s. He was an avid reader, golfer and played ball in his younger years. He also enjoyed time at the legion in Port Elgin with his many friends.

Merv has left the world far too soon and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
