Greta “Greta” Mello passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, December 28, 2024, just five days after her 82nd birthday, at Nithview Community. Born in Poland, Greta was a long-time member of the New Hamburg community.
Cherished and loving wife of David Mello, whom she married on September 25, 1970. Devoted mother of Sandra Glenn (Doug) and Shelley Hayden (Steve). Proud grandmother of Lia, Steven, and Alicia, and great-grandmother of many.
Greta is survived by her siblings Karl-Heinz Seibel (Martha), Reinhold Seibel (Susan), George Seibel (Pat), Helmut Seibel (Doris), and Rosalind Stumpf (Richard), and by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased and reunited with her parents Friedrich and Emilie (Lorfing) Seibel, daughters Lisa Mello and one in infancy, and several brothers, sisters, and in-laws, including Fred Seibel (Dorothy), John Seibel, Adolf Seibel (Ruth), Maria, Katharine, and Helene Seibel.
Greta was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Erma Maureen Shantz (Erb), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at Grand River Hospital. Born on September 2, 1934, in Millbank, Ontario, Erma’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering faith.
She is deeply missed by her devoted husband of 61 years, Ross Shantz, and her children Sheila LoBrutto (Tim Weiler) and Byron Shantz. Cherished grandmother to Ashlyn Shantz, Nikolas LoBrutto, and Dawson Shantz, as well as step-grandchildren Amanda (Jeff) Tobias, Rich (Rhonda) Weiler, and great-grandchildren Isla Tobias, Dakota, Harper, River, and Tavian Weiler.
Erma embraced a unique bond with Sonia Zelaya Dauria and her children Alexandra (Brayden) Frey, Isaac Dauria, and grandchild Eden Frey. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Grace Buehler (Willard), Eleanor (Freeman) Mast, and Doris (John) VanTrigt, as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Erma was predeceased by her first husband, Milo Good, her siblings, and other cherished family members.
Erma’s life overflowed with creativity and service. From her flower beds and quilting to hosting guests from around the world, Erma embodied hospitality and generosity. Her dedication to her faith and community was evident through her work at Wilmot Mennonite Church, the Mennonite Central Committee, and numerous volunteer roles.
Visitation will be held at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg, Ontario, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM and Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 1 PM to 3 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place at Shantz Mennonite Church on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11 AM.

Sylvia Streicher of RR#2 Milverton passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Stratford General Hospital in her 44th year. She will be dearly remembered by her sister Elsie Streicher of RR#2 Milverton and her many step-siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
Predeceased by her parents, Rudy and Katieann (Albrecht) Streicher, and her stepfather Ammon Schmidt, Sylvia was a devoted member of the Old Order Amish Church and a cherished member of her community.
Visitation: Relatives and friends may call at the family home, 5124B Line 62, Milverton, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until Monday, December 30, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be conducted at the family home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. with Bishop Reuben Jantzi officiating. Interment will follow at the 7th Line Amish Cemetery, Mornington Township.

With her loving family at her bedside on December 26th, 2024, Mrs. Donna Marie Goetz of Mitchell passed away in her 80th year. Donna is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Frank (1997).
Left to mourn Donna are her children, Brad, Tammy (Caitlin), Kevin (Tracy), and Trevor (Jody). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Ryan (Tanisha), Mackenzie (Kyle), Madyson (Jean Luc), Joshua (Kailey), Matthew, Keagan (Tina), Carter (Kristina), and Emma. Donna is also survived by her sister Jean (Al) Gaeler, sister-in-law Janey Bundscho, and brother-in-law David (Connie) Goetz.
Donna was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Pauline Arthur, her sister Anne Albrecht, and brother-in-law Robert Bundscho.
In accordance with Donna’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. J. Marie Dale on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth, at the age of 73. Marie, of Atwood, was the cherished and loving wife of James "Jim" Dale for 51 years. She was a devoted mother to Erin (Mike Doan), Amy Dale, and Lindsey (Mitchell Krieger), and a proud "Super Grandma" to Henry, Ryker, Hadleigh, Cheyenne, Carla, and Courtlyn.
Marie will be missed by her sister Susan Johnston, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Dorothy Johnston, Bill & Marilyn Dale, Ken & Mary Helen Dale, Cheryl Dale, and Dave Wettlaufer, along with her many nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers. She was predeceased by her parents Allan and Nellie Johnston, her in-laws Doug and Helen Dale, her brother Ray Johnston, her sister Frances Wettlaufer, and her brother-in-law Barney Dale.
A graduate of Queens University School of Medicine, Class of 1977, Marie began her family practice in the Milverton and surrounding community. She was passionate about caring for others, but also loved knitting, sewing, baking, and organizing. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. Further details will be updated on the funeral home website. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie’s memory may be made to Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth.

LEU: Kenneth Eugene "Sawbuck" – It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ken Leu on October 22, 2024, at St. Marys Memorial Hospital. Ken, formerly of Manitoulin Island and New Hamburg, was in his 79th year. He is reunited with his beloved wife Merretta Lynn (Robinson) Leu, who predeceased him on April 27, 2021.
Ken was the loving father of Jason (January 21, 2017) (and Tammy Bowerman) and Chris (Tracy Harbach) of St. Marys. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Jarret, Malcolm, and Dakota. Ken is survived by his sister-in-law Tracy and her husband Matt Irwin of Campbell River, B.C., brother-in-law Brad Robinson and his wife Joanne of Desboro, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Almeda (Forler) Leu, his brothers Fred and Jim Leu, and his brother-in-law Darcy “Brant” Robinson.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes, all funeral arrangements will remain private. These arrangements have been entrusted to Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg.
