BAILEY, Shirley Elizabeth Bailey

August 9, 1929 - July 24, 2026

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Elizabeth Bailey, just shy of her 97th birthday.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families.

Shirley spent many happy years with Norman who predeceased her in 1998. Shirley fondly recalled their time living in several beautiful destinations, including Brazil, England, USA and various countries where Norman was stationed. She enjoyed exploring new places and embracing new experiences.

Shirley was an avid crocheter and a proud member of the Square Ladies Club, where she formed treasured friendships over the years. She also had a passion for cooking. Shirley held a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats. Scamper was her loyal companion during the years she and Norman lived on their farm in Belwood.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home (2241 New Street, Burlington). A reception will follow the service, and guests are invited to remain for a time of refreshment and fellowship. The interment will take place in Belwood following the reception.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many Halton Health Care professionals that assisted with her care over the years. Thanks to the entire staff of Billings Court Manor for the care, compassion, and kindness shown to Shirley during her time there. In her later years, she was truly at her happiest while living at Billings Court. A special thank you is extended to Joey, the Recreation Director, for the activities that Shirley enjoyed so much.
