Moscha Bassis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Moscha Bassis on June 3, 2026 at the age of 85.

She was born on February 20, 1941, in Alexandria, Egypt. At a young age, Moscha met the love of her life, Sotere, when she was 14 years old. Together, they began a lifelong journey built on love, resilience, and unwavering partnership. Sotere and Moscha first moved to Greece, where they welcomed their first son, Anthony. They later moved to Canada and welcomed their second son Constantine and began their life here.

Moscha Bassis was a devoted Greek Orthodox Christian, a loving wife, a caring mother, and a proud yiayia. She adored her six grandchildren: Victoria, Vanessa, Angelica, Dominic, Ermioni, and John, and cherished every moment she spent with them. She was also blessed to know her great-grandchild, Oden, who brought her immense joy.

Moscha’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She devoted her life to her family and found great joy in spending time with those she loved most.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, wisdom, and the countless memories she created with family and friends. Whether through her comforting words, delicious meals, her love for baking, contagious laughter, or selfless acts of love, she left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her children: Anthony and Constantine, grandchildren: Victoria, Vanessa, Angelica, Dominic, Ermioni, and John, her great-grandchild Oden, as well as her sister Panayiota.

She was predeceased by her parents Maria and Anthony, her husband Sotere, and her brother Kiriakos.

Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we take comfort in knowing that her love, lessons, and legacy will remain with us forever.
