It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Barbara Joan Buda on February 18, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on November 1, 1943, in Toronto, Joan dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 59 years, John, and their two children.

Joan’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and traveling with John.
When not hosting family celebrations or visiting her grandchildren, Joan and John enjoyed taking cruises to new and exciting places around the world.

Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Barbara Sheardown (née Wilson) and her son Paul.
Joan will be greatly missed by her husband John, son David (Wendy), and three grandchildren: Heather Buda-Alexander (Scott), Emily Briggs (Patrick), and Isaac Buda.
She was also a loving great-grandmother to Trevor and Henry Briggs.

Joan is survived by her sister Carol Agnew (Paul), niece Sara Haire (Rob), nephew Alex Agnew (Jeremy), and great-nieces Zoe, Eva, and Emma Haire.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Turner & Porter Funeral Directors – Neweduk Chapel,
1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 2 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 3 p.m.
Cremation to follow.
