With profound grief and heavy hearts, the Bunker family announces that John Reginald Guy Bunker, age 86, has passed away after the long goodbye. Cherished husband of Margaret (Scollard) for 52 years. Proud father of Sarah (Andre Fidaoui) and Mark (Jenna Craig).
Loving Poppa of Nikki Cyr (Mike Siegrist), Joshua, Johnny (Makenzie Dupuis), and Jeremy. Great-grandfather (GG) to Isla and Alora Fidaoui.
Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Gladys Bunker and brother Peter Charles Bunker, all originally from England. He is mourned by two dear sisters-in-law: Margaret Bunker (Ross-on-Wye) and Janice Scollard (Calgary, Alberta), as well as her children Patrick (Shelia), Lucas, and Darcie Meyer (Mitch).
John will be missed dearly by his golfing and bowling buddies. Born in London, England, where he learned the trade of bookbinding, he came to Canada in January 1962. He retired from the Library of Parliament in 2001 and rekindled his passion for golf.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Edward Seale for his care, compassion, and dedication. Deep gratitude is also extended to the nurses, loyal PSWs, and the entire Bayshore Health team for their exceptional support and compassion during John’s final days at home. The family also expresses their love and appreciation to their dear “Posse” for their unwavering support.
Cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Orleans Legion Branch 632, 800 Taylor Creek Drive, on July 10, 2025, from 1–4 p.m. Please join the family to reminisce and celebrate the life of this fine British gentleman who became a proud Canadian.
