CHONG, Heather Ann Chong

Died peacefully at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the age of 77. Born on September 29, 1948 in London Derry, Northern Ireland, to parents Ronald and Agnes (nee McNee) Burns, a younger sister to Peter and older sister to Isobel. Beloved wife of Richard for 56 years. Loving mother of David and Michael and his wife Linda. Cherished grandmother to Caitlin, Justin, Brianna and treasured G.G. to Sofia Rose and a future great-granddaughter. Lovingly remembered by her extended family and many friends.

Heather Burns was famous among her family and friends for her delicious shortbread, her hand-knit blankets and her ability to make friends with anyone and anywhere. She will be greatly missed.

Friends are invited to join the family for a come and go celebration of Heather’s life at Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Heather to the SickKids Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
