Peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2016, at Twin Lakes Terrace, Brendan Patrick Eamon Fleming passed away at the age of 98. Son of Éamonn Fleming of The Swan, Co. Laois Ireland and Kathleen O’Farrelly of Clontarf, Dublin., both veterans of the Irish War of Independence. Cherished brother of the late (2002) John R. Fleming of Dublin, Ireland, Cathal O’Luain of Dublin, Ireland, Rita O’Sullivan of Dublin, Ireland and the late (1963) Andrew Fleming of Co. Laois and later Sarnia, Ontario. Treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews. Brendan worked in the Fleming Fireclays and Mine company in Co. Laois, Ireland. He emigrated to Canada in 1956; He worked initially in Toronto and then went to Sarnia to where his brother Andrew had moved (founding Andrew’s Hair Fashions). Brendan worked for 40 years with the Sarnia Parking Authority and was well known for his affable manner. He made many friends in Sarnia. He sang with the choir in his local Catholic Church. Susan and Ted were amongst his friends. His friend Earl was also close but went back to his home in northern Ontario when he retired. He had accompanied Brendan on a trip home to Ireland when Cathal took them on a tour of the south of the country. He was very grateful for the excellent care received at Twin Lakes Nursing Home. Family and friends will be received at SFH – McKenzie Blundy Chapel, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 390 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Sarnia. Eternal Rest Grant unto him. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
