Passed away peacefully in Stoney Creek on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in her 90th year. Assunta is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Armando (2019). Loving mother to Mary Fortino, Tony Fortino (Linda) and Giovanni “John” Fortino (Laura). Treasured Nonna of Michael, Anthony, Adriana, David, Neveah and Tessa. Dear sister to Maria and Anna Filice. She will be greatly missed by extended family and friends. Assunta had a friendly spirit, who loved to take long walks and stop to chat with her neighbours along the way. She will be remembered for her beautiful garden and the delicious meals that she made with love for her family. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Ridgeview Long Term Care for taking care of Assunta with love and compassion.
