
He was born on April 20, 1935 to Ernest and May Fry in Darleston, England.
He married Lorna Lillian Bennett on January 19, 1957. They had two children, Beverly and Christopher.
He worked at General Motors Oshawa as a tool and dye maker and Ontario Power Generation as a mechanical maintainer/Health and Safety coordinator
He was an avid golfer, soccer (European football) fan and handyman (he could build/fix just about anything that he put his mind to).
He loved to dance and enjoyed travelling with his wife of 68 years, Lorna.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Lorna (nee Bennett), Beverly (daughter), Christopher (son) and his wife, Vicky, grandchildren Cory, Tanya, Stephanie, Lily and Graham, great grandchildren Harper, Sebastian, Jemma, Skylar, Paisley, Annabelle and Felix. Also, his family in England, brothers Maurice and Gordon and sister Doreen and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and May Fry and his sister, Joyce.
In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to either The Alzheimer’s Society or Parkinson Canada.
