Passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 12th, 2026, following a courageous battle with COPD. Surrounded by her loving family, Susan faced her final days with the love and support of those who meant the most to her.

Susan Jennifer Bandy was the beloved daughter of Beverly Cousins and the late Robert Bruce, and the cherished wife of the late Robert Bandy, who predeceased her in 2023. She was a devoted and loving mother to Jennifer Repol (Andrew) and Samantha Bandy (Christopher Sullivan), and a proud grandmother to Nicholas, Brody, Lily, and Mason, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Dear sister of Steve Bruce and the late Miles Bruce, Susan will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and many dear friends.

Susan was a hardworking woman who took great pride in her career and found purpose in caring for others. She dedicated more than 35 years to the healthcare industry as a Personal Support Worker and spent many of those years at Extendicare Oshawa, where she devoted herself to caring for the elderly. Her years of service reflected her commitment to her work and the important role she played in the lives of those in her care.

When Susan wasn’t working, she enjoyed making the most of life’s simple pleasures and discovering new experiences. She loved the beach, enjoyed dining out, and was a true foodie who appreciated good food and the experience of trying something new. She had a special appreciation for all things local and loved travelling throughout Ontario, exploring its many wonderful places and enjoying what the region had to offer.

Above all, family was the centre of Susan’s world. She treasured her time with her children and grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart. Her love for them was an important part of who she was, and the memories they shared will remain a lasting source of comfort and love.

Susan’s life was marked by her dedication, her interests, and, most importantly, the love she held for her family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

In keeping with Susan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Foundation would be greatly appreciated by Susan’s family.
