MARJORIE LEONA HARRIS

April 27, 1947 – December 2, 2025

Smiling woman in blue blouse portrait

It is with profound sadness that the family of Marjorie Harris announces her peaceful death at home on December 2, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Marjorie was the cherished mother of Kerri (Brad) White and Krissy (Mark) Glavin, and the proud grandmother of Logan, Kendra, Joshua, and Ethan. She will be deeply missed by Elgin, the Austen family, and her siblings: Ida Bice, James A. Walsh, Betty Matthews, and sister-in-law Charlotte Walsh. She was predeceased by her parents, Graham and Lela Walsh; her much-loved husband, Bob Harris (2005); brother-in-law Owen Bice (2016); sister-in-law Elda Walsh (2021); brother Gord Walsh (2019); and her nephew, Doug Bice (2007), who was as dear to her as a son. Marjorie graduated from the RNA program at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital in 1966 (later known as RPN). She worked in the OR and on the Surgery Floor at SMGH for 13 years, took time away while raising her children, and later continued her calling in healthcare at University Hospital before finishing her career with ParaMed Home Health, where she served with dedication for 22 years. Deeply committed to her community, Marjorie was an active member of Strathroy United Church and a longtime volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada in her earlier years. Above all, she was her grandchildren’s biggest supporter—always present, always cheering, always proud. The family extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. G. Perkin, Dr. J. Lenehan and Rebecca, Dr. T. Karaouzas and the Palliative Care Team, and all the staff at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre at Victoria Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home – London Line Chapel, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, ON. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the same location, with a reception to follow at The Smith Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to Strathroy United Church (cheques only when donating at the funeral home, please).
