LAGODA, Grace Lagoda

Peacefully, at Maple Manor Nursing Home on Thursday April 9, 2026, Grace Lagoda passed away at 80 years of age. Caring mother to Katherine McQuiggin (Andrew Hofstetter), Jeff Lagoda (Tracy) and Jennifer Alyea. Grandmother to Ashley (Chad), Grant (Taylor), Jarod, Jessica, Gregory, Brooklyn and Andrew. Great Grandmother to Isla.

Predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Ted (2020) and her daughter Andrea Burchill (2001) as well as her parents Edward and Regina Stevanato.

Grace was a strong, intelligent and dedicated mother and wife whose life was marked by quiet faith, steady devotion, and a deep love for her family and friends. She was known for her reserved nature, her gentle spirit, and the sincerity with which she carried herself through each season of life. Throughout her life, Grace devoted herself to the care of her home and the well-being of those she loved. Her family was the centre of her world, and she found great joy in the simple but meaningful moments shared together. Whether she was offering encouragement, listening with care, or providing support in times of need, Grace gave herself freely and faithfully.

Grace was deeply faithful and lived her life with a sense of purpose that reflected her belief and values. Reading books was another of Grace’s cherished pastimes. She appreciated the quiet companionship of a good book and the chance to reflect, learn and enjoy peaceful moments. She especially loved children and found happiness in their laughter and energy. She enjoyed dancing and the opportunity to watch and play games with family and friends. These shared experiences created lasted memories and reminders of the importance of connection.

Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Tuesday April 14, 2026 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 51 Venison Street West, Tillsonburg on Wednesday April 15, 2026 at 11:00am with Rev. Father Seejo John officiating. Interment will follow at St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Courtland.
