Marian Elaine Thomas

Died peacefully at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the age of 69. Lainey, of Stayner, was born on July 2, 1956 to parents Norman Bruce and Florence Lillian May (nee Scott) Thomas; a sister to Richard Bruce Thomas and Susan Darlene Thomas. She was a feisty lady, with a quick wit and great sense of humour. An avid and talented crafter, she would make wicker baskets and excelled at fibrecrafts, holding craft sales on her front lawn in her younger years. Her most notable creations were her knitted Emotional Support Chickens, which brought comfort to many in recent years. She adored her Russian Blue feline companion, Holly, who will miss her greatly. Lainey will be lovingly remembered by her friends and neighbours.

A graveside service to lay Lainey to rest beside her beloved parents at Stayner Union Cemetery will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lainey to the CNIB in Barrie or to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society in Collingwood would be greatly appreciated.
