ROSS, Margaret Anne Ross

Deeply missed and lovingly remembered, With deep sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Margaret Anne Ross (nΓ©e Benson) on March 15, 2026, just two weeks shy of her 84th birthday.

Raised in Bristol, UK, Margaret carried the warmth, wit, and resilience of her English roots throughout her life. In 1975, she and her husband Michael made the courageous decision to begin a new chapter in Canada, eventually settling in Don Mills, where they raised their son James. In retirement, Margaret found peace and joy in Wasaga Beach, a place that suited her gentle spirit.

Margaret was a lifelong animal lover and welfarist, known for her tender heart and unwavering devotion to the many cats who shared her home over the years. Freddie and Mac, her beloved moggies, were her constant companions, and she championed the wellbeing of animals with quiet determination.

Margaret performed with the Eastside Players and Wasaga Community Theatre, where she enjoyed a rich community of friends and delighted audiences with her beautiful singing voice, often lending her talent to the chorus. Her love of music and theatre brought colour and connection to her life and to those who shared the stage with her. Her love for jigsaws was legendary, and she delighted in solving them.

Margaret was the beloved wife of Michael Ross, who predeceased her on April 23, 2021. She was the cherished mother of James, loving mother in law of Tanya (nΓ©e Dale), and proud grandmother of Jacob and Liam, who brought her endless joy. Her family will forever remember her gentle, loving nature and her subtle sense of humour.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and quiet strength.

In honour of Margaret’s lifelong devotion to animals, donations to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society [https://gths.ca/donatenow/] are welcomed in lieu of flowers.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this year, where family and close friends will gather to share memories, music, and love in her honour.
