MENZIES, Marilena Menzies

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving husband at the age of 77, on May 29, 2026. Beloved wife of 53 years to Alexander “Al”. Devoted mother of Jason and Matthew (Samantha). Dear sister and best friend of Daniela Wenzler (Denis) and loving sister-in-law of Mary Lee Cranston. She is reunited with her parents Lucia and Umberto Broi, her brother Gian Pietro “John” (surviving Miryam). Cherished Aunt of Jonnie (Dana), Andrea (Eric), Peter (Carolyn), Robbie, and Jenny (Aaron), her great-nieces and great-nephews. Marilena will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Marilena Menzies devoted many years to her work as a kindergarten teacher at St. Antoine and St. Pius, where she was known for her kindness and gentle care for the children she taught. She later retired after a long and dedicated career, leaving behind a lasting impact on the many young lives she nurtured.

She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the kitchen and at her sewing table. Inspired by her favorites, Chef Lidia and Jamie Oliver, Marilena lovingly prepared delicious meals, including her signature Chicken Parmesan, hearty tortellini soup, and comforting potato salad.

Above all, Marilena treasured time spent with her family. Holidays were especially dear to her, as they brought everyone together in moments filled with laughter, love, and tradition.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 6-9 pm. Family and friends are invited to meet at Our Lady of Atonement Parish (2940 Forest Glade Dr.) on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 for visitation from 10:00 am until Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow.
