Nancy Paulette O’Neil (née Whitby) of Markdale, formerly of Holyrood and Wingham, passed away at Grey Bruce Hospice, Owen Sound on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at age 75.
Beloved wife of the late David O’Neil (August 2016). Loving mother of Denny O’Neil (Carolyn) of Wingham, Serrena O’Neil (Gary Emms) of Berkeley, Nicole McGlynn (Jeremy) of Holyrood and Rebecca O’Neil (Dean Stevens) of Williamsford. Missed by 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her sisters, Joan Steinacker, Karen Schlorff (Glenn), Pam Burley (Don), sister-in-law Beth (née Merrick) Whitby, members of the O’Neil family and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Edward “Teddy” and Helen (née Gibb) Whitby, son Nathan (1978), grandson Mackenzie (2018), brothers David Whitby (Ruby Wiles), George Whitby and Edward (Eddy) Whitby and sisters, Linda Mawhinney (Alex) and Marie Whitby.
Visitation will be held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Tuesday, June 10th 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service honouring Nancy’s life at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment Wingham Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Chapman House (Grey Bruce Hospice) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
